I work as a Nursery Practitioner and have two grown up children.
I have been on the Executive committee for 4 years, mainly as Political Education Officer. For the last year and a half, I have been Convenor of EKSNP branch.

I have voted for our party for most of my adult life. I realise that only SNP can bring democracy for Scotland. I have a strong sense of fairness and support Equality of opportunity for everyone. But even when most of our population votes for a party, we get what the majority of the UK votes for.

I joined the SNP in 2014, after the joy of being active during the referendum followed by the crushing bereavement of the result.

East Kilbride Branch has been blessed with a magnificent team. We have held Speaker events and had successful resolutions passed at Conference. All of these contribute to our preparations for the next Campaign, which will hopefully lead Scotland to Independence. I intend to actively pursue that goal.

I have lived in East Kilbride most of my life apart from a period during High School and College when I lived in Motherwell. My father was an engineering manager at Ravenscraig Steel Works, the closure of which first brought politics into my world and taught me that decisions for Scotland should only be made in Scotland and that only the SNP put Scotland’s interests first.

I have been an SNP member since 2009 and an executive committee member since 2015, firstly as Organiser then Press Officer before becoming Secretary in 2018.

I sat on the election campaign committee’s for Lisa Cameron in 2015 and Linda Fabiani in 2016 as well as providing external design and print services through my business which I moved here from Glasgow in 2011.

I have been an active member of East Kilbride SNP since joining the party in 2012. Since then, I have been a founding member of Yes East Kilbride as well as being part of Lisa Cameron’s campaign team in 2015 and a member of Linda Fabiani’s campaign team in 2016. I joined the East Kilbride SNP executive as organiser in 2017.

Since becoming organiser, I have ensured that our branch has remained in campaigning mode during these uncertain times and will continue to do so to ensure that we are in the best position possible to fight, and win, the next independence referendum.

I have been a member of East Kilbride SNP for almost ten years, joining shortly after obtaining Honours in Politics and History.

I campaigned first in the 2011 Scottish Parliament elections, and been involved in most campaigns since. I was heavily involved in Yes East Kilbride, as not only a founding member, but also creating their social media presence through Facebook and Twitter, as well as writing press releases and taking photographs at the majority of their events.

Team EK SNP should be about members, activists and elected representatives working together so we can achieve our ultimate goal of independence.
