Councillor Archie Buchanan

I have been an elected SNP Councillor covering much of this area for some 25 years now and have also lived in the area for over 40 years where I brought my family up. I also operate my own Electrical & Plumbing business both in this area and across East Kilbride.

My extensive Council experience in Housing, Planning & Licensing and working with many local community groups and parent councils has always been at the core of what I do as a local Councillor.

With the help of local people I help organise a Local Youth Club, Senior Citizens Club, and East Kilbride Horticultural Society and am also Chairman of East Kilbride Credit Union.

Helping people and groups in the Ward is what I have always been about and indeed offer some 16 hours direct access to me every month through face to face to Surgeries and I have always offered home visits to the elderly and infirm.

My extensive experience in operating within the Council structures and local businesses over the past 25 years has brought many improvements within the EK South Ward and I am committed to continuing this.
