I have a strong connection and commitment to this area, having been born and raised in the Murray, where my mother still lives. I have lived in the Westwood since 1992 and raised my own daughter here. Now I would like to give something back.
The interests of the people of this ward are very much my interests – we all want a safe, clean environment to live in and to raise our families. We also require the services and amenities that will protect and serve our residents throughout their lives.
I have been a member of the SNP for nearly 25 years and am committed to achieving independence for Scotland. I have also been a long-standing trade unionist and member of Unite the Union, previously a workplace shop steward who negotiated successful agreements.
I am employed as a Technology Project Manager and have been the primary carer for my parents over the last ten years, although for only my mother now. Being a carer alongside working has brought many challenges as well as a lot of happiness. I would be a fighter for carers’ rights – as I am in my workplace – as well as more widely for people in all walks of life.
I would be honoured to be elected to serve the people of my own ward area, East Kilbride Central South. I am committed to being a strong voice for you in the council if elected in this 75th year of the founding of our town.
